Enough about Halloween, National Novel Writing Month begins today. Who's in? It breaks down to about 1500 words a day, and doesn't even have to make sense!
Elsewhere The media is already saying the kaddish for Studio 60, which is a shame as it's the only new show I like (I'm into dialogue). What I'm wondering is, when will ABC can the yuppie dramas and show The Knights of Prosperity (about robbing Mick Jagger)? That one has cult hit written all over it.
And What do you give for a two-year anniversary with a city? A trip to the top of the Space Needle? Bag of mini donuts? In any case, congratulations Seattle, we made it!
Something else I was thinking about -- quoting a passage certainly isn't uncommon, especially in writing, but what's the last book with crossover appeal in pop culture? I can spout a half-dozen movie quotes that I think are funny, but I'll be damned if I can remember something snotty that Zooey said to his mother, offhand. What is the Lebowski of literature?
I'm going to take a few days off to work.
Okay, it ain' stoppin': the Village Voice launches a TV blog and runs a cover story on SNL. (By HuffPo Eat the Press's Rachel Sklar. So it won't suck.)

I like the idea a lot. When you break it down to a reasonable daily goal it isn't so daunting, and the community effort is also attractive. I'm not sure the final result would really be something worth calling a novel, but it could be a good place to start.
I'm in. That means even less blogging, which will give me negative posts -- which means business as usual.
